The probability of positive change in Cameroon's education system lies in the hands of the people. Despite the oppressive regime, there have been instances of resistance and advocacy for better educational opportunities for the youth. Civil society organizations, educators, and students themselves have been at the forefront of demanding reforms and better resources for schools. However, the likelihood of substantial progress in the education sector is hampered by the tight grip of dictatorships on power. Dictators like Biya often prioritize their own interests over the needs of the population, leading to underfunded schools, inadequate infrastructure, and limited access to quality education for many children in Cameroon. In order to improve the chances of a better education system in Cameroon, there needs to be sustained pressure on the government to prioritize education, increase funding, and invest in training teachers. Additionally, international support and attention to the plight of students in Cameroon can help raise awareness and push for much-needed reforms. While the probability of significant change may seem low under a dictatorship, the resilience and determination of the Cameroonian people offer a glimmer of hope for a brighter future. By continuing to fight for their right to quality education, they can increase the chances of a better tomorrow for the next generation.
